How to Deal with Lousy Sales Forecasts
Many
companies blame their poor customer service on lousy sales
forecasts. There is much emphasis
on sales forecasting as the vehicle for reducing inventory. Many people think that the primary key
to solving their inventory management problems is to forecast better.
Welcome to
Work. You’re Wrong! How to Deal with Lousy Sales Forecasts!
Provides a frameowk for integrating the sales
forecasting function into the overall Supply Chain Planning process. It provides an overview of the common
misconceptions relating to sales forecasting, as well as specific
techniques for dealing with sales forecasting errors.
The
presentation shows how progressive companies reduce the effect of
forecast errors by implementing state-of-the-art inventory planning
systems. It shows how sales
forecasting is used in conjunction with safety stock management,
Distribution Resource Planning and Vendor Management Inventory to manage
the complete supply chain.
